Swami Kriyananda
Receives the 2005 International Goodness Award
We are happy to announce that Swami Kriyananda has been awarded the 2005 International Goodness Award. The short, but touching, ceremony took place in Milan on the occasion of the launch of the Italian edition of his book, Conversations with Yogananda. An audience of more than seven hundred attentive participants honoured Swami Kriyananda and his life work.
Below you will find the words of Dr. Alessandro Sassoli, the European Chairman of the Third Millennium Committee, who spoke on that occasion, and also a short congratulatory note written by Tara Gandhi Bhattacharcjee, grand-daughter of the great Mahatma Gandhi.
“Founder of the Ananda Communities, for more than fifty years Swami Kriyananda has spread all over the world, on the paths of Goodness and Wisdom, the spiritual teachings of the highest Indian tradition for Self-realization, pointing out its application in every sphere of life, by means of several musical compositions and above all deep and, at the same time, simple books, published in 27 languages, in ninety countries.
“To Swami Kriyananda, worshipper of the joy and melody of human brotherhood, this Committee, on the recommendation of the person responsible for Culture and Welfare, Ms Tara Gandhi, assign the International Goodness Award, 2005 edition.”
